GPU class

What is gpu class?

A GPU class is a family of interchangeable accelerators with the same memory capacity and comparable throughput, priced as a unit. Selecting a class rather than a specific card is what allows capacity to be sourced wherever it is available.

The class is the unit that matters for a decision: does the model fit, how fast will it run, what does it cost per hour. Which individual card serves the job is an implementation detail.

Choosing one is usually a two-step process — find the classes with enough memory, then pick between them on the trade between hourly rate and throughput. The cheapest per hour is not always the cheapest per run.
