Agent

What is agent?

An agent is a system where a model plans and executes a sequence of tool calls toward a goal rather than answering in one turn. Reliability compounds across steps, which makes per-step accuracy far more consequential than it appears.

The arithmetic is unforgiving. Ninety-five per cent per step over ten steps is under sixty per cent end to end, and users judge the end-to-end number.

Fine-tuning on successful traces is one of the higher-return interventions available, because it improves the two things that break most often: argument formatting and call ordering.
